Celebrating the Letter Bb

On Friday afternoon we made butterfly masks, bracelets, built with blocks, blew big beautiful bubbles, read books to buddies and had a brilliant time.

Our Science this week was based on bubbles. Thank you so much to Bec Ansley for supplying the bubble sticks and mixture so that we could create beautiful big bubbles. The squeals of delight were wonderful. Ask your children to explain about surface tension and evaporation. You will be surprised what they know.

We ate Baked Beans to celebrate the letter of the week. Some people had never tried them and really liked them. Don't be surprised if the tamariki ask for beans for breakfast tomorrow.

Ii is for ice

We froze a lot of rubber insects inside an enormous block of ice. It was interesting investigating how we would get them out. The children decided that they could ask Mr Lamb if we could borrow hammers and everyone (including Mrs Lill and Mrs Keats) had fun cracking it.

Roman brought a slushy maker along to school. It was so much fun watching the ice come out looking like snow. It was "cool" eating it too.
